"What You Must Know Before Purchasing Any iPod to Computer Software..."
If you've done a Google search for iPod to Computer software, you may have noticed there are literally dozens of software to choose from. All these brands claim to work better than the rest, but not all of them do. Some are much better than others. Here at iPodtoComputer.net we wanted to find out which ones give you the absolute most for your money.
To do this, we purchased 18 different brands of this software and tested them using 3 different iPods...
- 1. iPod Classic 120 Gig - Generation 6.5, This is the latest version of the iPod Classic. It has advanced security which can be difficult for some software to breakthrough.
- 2. iPod Nano 2 Gig -1st Generation, This is an older iPod and uses flash memory instead of a hard drive to store music. It's a good test to make sure the software works on all iPods.
- 3. iPod Touch 32 Gig - 2nd Generation, This would be the deciding iPod. The latest generation Touch is the most advanced iPod to date.
We also took note of user friendliness, ease of installation, and the different features included with the software.
Our Shocking Discovery...
- 1.5% of ipod to computer program loaded with spyware
- 2.70% only can trasfer a few songs from ipod to computer, and doesn't support video or photo files
- 3.24% worked great, easy to use and quickly transfered music video files from iPod to computer without any error
Time and time again we found software failed to transfer the contents of our latest generation iPods. Doing so would result in an error message, or worse crash the software along with your computer.
Of the software that did seem to work, when playing the transferred files, the quality was not the same. Some were choppy, others had strange muffling sounds. It seems Apple had a trick up their sleeve to prevent transfering files without iTunes. Needless to say playing music or watching video with problems like these is extremely frustrating.
Even more disturbing, a few came with data mining spyware. This was a real shock, we would never expect retail software to include spyware.
Conclusion:
Now even though many programs did not live up to our expectations, we did manage to find a few that truly stood out. For one, these all transferred our test iPod's contents without crashing. Second, when playing the transferred files, they had perfect quality. If you are planning to buy iPod to computer software... then these are the programs to use.
